WINNIPEG, MB (May 7, 2012) – The last time the St. Paul Saints and Winnipeg Goldeyes played the Saints scored a run in the bottom of the ninth in Game 5 of the first round of the 2011 playoffs. That run vaulted the Saints into the American Association Championship Series.

ST. PAUL, MN (May 3, 2012) – The St. Paul Saints tryout got started on time, but after about an hour Mother Nature halted all activity. The St. Paul Saints will begin their 20th season in mid-May, but it’s fair to say they wouldn’t have gotten past year one without the incredible support of their fans.
It’s not very often the St. Paul Saints have an opening on their coaching staff, but when they do there are plenty of qualified candidates interested in the position. With pitching coach Jason Verdugo taking the Athletic Director’s position at Hamline University the Saints turned to former Major Leaguer and Saints reliever Kerry Ligtenberg to take over the reins.
If St. Paul Saints manager George Tsamis needed a big out in a crucial situation he knew who to call on. If he needed a big strikeout with the bases loaded he knew who to grab out of his bullpen. And if he needed one of the most reliable relievers in the franchise’s history he knew one man earned that distinctive honor.
