Best And Brightest At CHS Field In 2016 As Saints Will Host American Association All-Star Game

BEST AND BRIGHTEST AT CHS FIELD IN 2016 AS SAINTS WILL HOST AMERICAN ASSOCIATION ALL-STAR GAME

 

ST. PAUL, MN (September 2, 2015) – The greatest talent that the American Association has to offer will visit CHS Field in 2016.  While the schedule for next season has not been announced one thing is certain, the St. Paul Saints and their incredible new ballpark, CHS Field, will showcase the best talent the American Association has to offer during the 2016 All-Star game.

 

            The date of the 2016 American Association All-Star Game will be announced when the schedule is released following the 2015 season.  The last time the Saints hosted the league’s biggest event was on July 22, 2008 when there were two divisions, North and South.  The South defeated the North 11-4.

 

            “We are thrilled to have the league’s All-Star game in one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country, CHS Field,” said American Association Commissioner Miles Wolff.  “This will give the best players in our league an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of Major League scouts and a sold out crowd.  We appreciate Saints General Manager Derek Sharrer and his staff putting on this event and look forward to spending time in St. Paul.”

 

            Season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to obtain tickets to the mid-summer classic at CHS Field.  All fans renewing season tickets or purchasing a new 2016 season ticket package will have the game included in their package.  Once the 2016 American Association schedule is released groups of 100 or more who attended a 2015 game at CHS Field will have the next opportunity to purchase All-Star Game tickets.  Finally, Saints single-game tickets will go on sale in March and the All-Star game will be available to the general public at that time.

 

            This will be the third time the Saints have hosted the All-Star game and second in the American Association.  In addition to 2008, the Saints hosted the first Northern League All-Star Game on August 4, 1997 as the East defeated the West 2-1.  Each time the Saints hosted the All-Star game they reached the championship the year before, winning it all in 1996 and reaching the championship series, but losing in the fifth and deciding game in 2007.  The Saints manager Marty Scott was at the helm for the 1997 West Division team and George Tsamis managed the North Division All-Stars at Midway Stadium in 2008.

 

Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value.  Tickets begin at $5 for berm seating (available on day of game), $6 for bleacher seats, $12 for the drink rail, $14 for outfield reserved, $16 for infield reserved and $18 for home plate reserved.  Friday Home Games with Post-Game Fireworks are an additional $2 per ticket.  Post-Game Fireworks Supershows (September 6) are an additional $3 per ticket.  Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $2 per ticket.  Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price.  Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.  To learn more about premium areas, please call 651-644-6659.

 

There are two ways for fans to purchase tickets to Saints playoff games at CHS Field.  First, single game tickets will be made available for the Saturday, September 12 game to individuals and groups.  Second, six game playoff strips can be purchased, which include tickets to all potential home playoff games (games 3-5 in the Semifinal round and games 3-5 in the Championship round).  Fans electing to purchase the playoff strip will receive a priority position on the waiting list for new season tickets to the 2016 season at CHS Field.  Fans purchasing the playoff ticket strip will be credited for any unplayed games.

Saints Box Office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  On game days, the Box Office will open at 9 a.m. Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday and will remain open until 15 minutes following each game.  Tickets are always available at saintsbaseball.com.
