Enjoy Food With the Saints During the Upcoming Homestand or You'll Be Sleeping With the Fishes

ST. PAUL, MN (May 24, 2012) – It may be the shortest homestand of the season for the St. Paul Saints, but fans will have plenty of chances to get into trouble. Whether it’s stuffing their faces with all the finest foods from various food trucks, whacking invasive species or getting whacked as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Godfather, it will be three days leaving you wanting more.
The Saints take on the Sioux City Explorers in a three game series that spans the weekend of May 25-27. On Friday, May 25 at 7:05 p.m. cue the music and be on your best behavior or you will be sleeping with the fishes. Don’t insult our intelligence because it will only get us angry. It’s the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the classic film “The Godfather.” Luca Brasi, Don Corleone, Sonny and Carlo will be out in full force, so make sure you’re on your best behavior. There will be loud shots fired into the sky, but they it will be the type of noise every fan can enjoy during our Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks show following the game. Also, fans will have a chance to win up to $77,777 with St. Croix Casino Big Money Day, but be careful or the mob will come to collect their portion of your winnings.
On Saturday, May 26 at 7:05 p.m. the Saints put an end to the invasive species problem in Minnesota on Invasive Species Night presented by Tonka Beer Company™. While these unwanted guests have become a nuisance for the DNR and those that fish the Saints will give the first 500 fans 14 an under the only tool they anyone will need. The instrument is called the Carp No More and is 30 inches in length, and acts as a “Trojan horse” when placed in water. The carp will think it’s a variety of exotic blue-green algae, one of their favorite foods.
The final day of the homestand is Sunday, May 27 with a special 3:05 p.m. start time and you better come hungry because it’s the Monster Food Truck Rally presented by Metro Magazine. Following the game until 9:00 p.m. food trucks from all over the city will line up in the outfield and take your order. You can choose from 15 different trucks: Bloomy’s Roast Beef, Barrio Taco Truck, World Street Kitchen, Tot Boss, Waffle Van, Marie Antoinette Crepes, Anchor Fish & Chips, Cave Café, Nate Dogs, Bacon Trolley, Twisted Sister House of Hunger, Scratch Food Truck, Chef Shack, Streetzza and Messy Giuseppe. Your ticket to the game gets you in for free to the Monster Truck Food Rally, but in order to enjoy these delectable treats you must purchase the food although smelling the aroma is free. Kids get to run the bases and the entire team will sign autographs following the game on Family Sunday’s.
Enjoy this three game homestand because it will be nearly two weeks before you get to enjoy the fun and excitement of a Saints game.
Tickets for Saints home games are $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket. Children under the age of 14 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.
