Purrrfect Event, Saints and myTalk 107.1 Hosting Cat Video Festival August 9

ST. PAUL, MN August 5, 2016

Whether you are on team Heathcliff or Garfield, Felix or Sylvester, Tom Kitten or Socks, CHS Field has the purrrfect event for the cat enthusiast in all of us.  The St. Paul Saints and myTalk 107.1 will bring thousands of feline fans to one location for the popular Cat Video Festival.

On Tuesday, August 9 gates will open at 6:00 p.m. with the show beginning around 8:30 p.m. There will be no need for cat fights or catcalls as videos featuring Siamese, Scottish Fold, Siberian and even Himalayan cats will entertain fans from all walks of life on the CHS Field 30’ X 50’ wide HD video board.  For the first time in the events history fans can capture the most adorable, hilarious or awe inspiring moment from their cat on video and submit it directly to catfestmn.com.  As in the past, other people’s videos can also be nominated by sharing their link on the website form.

“When our staff heard that the Internet Cat Video Festival was not going to return this year they immediately rallied to bring the event back in 2016,” said VP/Market Manager of Hubbard Radio Minneapolis/St. Paul Dan Seeman.  “We think the event is a perfect fit for myTalk 107.1 and our listeners.  We want to make sure this great community event continues.  Our first call was to the St. Paul Saints and we are so pleased to be partnering with them so we can bring the event back to CHS Field.”

No cat video festival is complete without some celebrities.  Chris Poole, a self confessed crazy cat guy who is best known for his website and Facebook page that features him and his cats, Cole and Marmalade, will be in attendance and have a booth so fans can talk with Chris and get autographs.  Marmalade was a Friskies Grand Prize Winner for “Dumpster Kitty.”

While the Zombie Apocalypse hasn’t taken over the world just yet, a young YouTube sensation, Millicent, believed otherwise when her brothers Cabot and Barrett convinced her the end was near.  In Millicent’s defense, she had just gotten her wisdom teeth pulled and was still under the effects of anesthesia.  The two of them will be at CHS Field, perhaps wearing some of the paraphernalia given to them by Ellen Degeneres during their appearance on her show.

Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite cat-like costume and the event will include cat-related family activities.  Cat friendly music will be played throughout the night, but the four-legged felines must stay at home that night.

“This was easily one of the most entertaining events to take place at CHS Field during our inaugural season here in 2015 with more than 13,000 fans in attendance,” said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Derek Sharrer.  “We are thrilled to be working with myTalk 107.1 to ensure that this wonderful tradition, originally created by the talented staff at the Walker Art Center, continues for years to come.”

Tickets can be purchased by going to saintsbaseball.com, calling 651-644-6659 or going to the Saints box office Monday-Friday 9-6 or Saturday 10-2. The event will donate $1 per ticket purchased to Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN.  General admission tickets are $10 and VIP Tickets to the Securian Club, which includes food and drink, are $75.  Kids five and under are free.

Fans can bring blankets, but no chairs are allowed in CHS Field.  For more information contact the Saints office at 651-644-6659.
