Runners, Sitters Enjoy Beautiful Day For Saints Running of the Pigs

ST. PAUL, MN April 27, 2013

Under clear skies and perfect temperatures the 10th Annual Running of the Pigs 5K race and the Second Annual Zer0K took place at Midway Stadium.  Runners and loungers alike brought their athletic ability to the ballpark on Saturday, April 27.  More than 70 Zer0K participants brought their food and beer to the start finish line as the finish line came to them.  At the end of the day 260 men, women, children and mascots took part in the event.

The 5K Run/Walk, which is 3.1 miles, began and ended inside Midway Stadium.  Paul Hilson with a time of 16:34 was the fastest male on the day and Kate Tarakley took the female division in a time of 21:08.  Participants for both the 0-K and 5K received a t-shirt, a ticket to a future Saints game and a post game meal provided by Lettuce Cater.

The youth race kicked off early in the 9am hour, with a lap around the warning track of Midway Stadium with kids of all ages running with the Saints furry, two-legged mascot, Mudonna.
