Saints 25-Year Documentary, For The Fun Of The Game, To Be Featured As Part Of "Insiders Series" For Twin Cities Film Fest

ST. PAUL, MN April 9, 2018

The St. Paul Saints entered Minnesota in 1992 and played their first game in 1993.  Many thought this plucky little organization wouldn’t last past that first year.  The “little engine that could,” however has brought millions of people joy, laughter, and long-lasting memories.  Now a brand-new documentary, For the Fun of the Game, created, written, directed and produced by Saints Director of Digital Media and Video Production, Jordan Lynn, will be featured as part of the “Insiders Series” for the Twin Cities Film Fest.

On Monday, May 7 at the Showplace Icon Theater in St. Louis Park the Insiders Series will feature For the Fun of the Game.  A pre-screening mixer will take place beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the Red Carpet ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m.  The film will be shown in a 135-patron theater at 7:00 p.m. and a question and answer period will follow the screening with Lynn and a select group of ownership and front office staff.  A post-movie reception will take place at 8:30 p.m.

The film celebrates the 25-year history of the Saints, from 1993-2017, and shows the early misconceptions the organization needed to overcome, the struggles it endured, and the numerous success stories during the Saints history.  There are interviews with owners Mike Veeck, Marv Goldklang, and Bill Murray, former Saints players Kevin Millar, Leon Durham, and Brandon Kintzler, along with current and former front office members.  The documentary is an hour long.

The Saints will hold a special evening at CHS Field, on a future date during the summer, for the public to come out and enjoy For the Fun of the Game on the videoboard.

The 2018 Twin Cities Film Fest takes place October 17-24, but has a number of Insider Series films throughout the year.  The Insider Series celebrates various Minnesota Film Makers.  Lynn started as an intern with the Saints in 2013 and was brought on full-time with the team in 2014.  He became the Director of Digital Media and Video Production for the Saints in 2016 and has helped grow the Saints social media platforms through a Facebook Live Pre-Game Show, in-game video content, and Friday Night Xcel Energy Music Videos.  Lynn graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2014 with a degree in Sport Management with a minor in Communications.

The Saints begin the 2018 season on the road against the Gary SouthShore Railcats on Friday, May 18.  The Saints first game at home is on Monday, May 21 against the newest member of the American Association, the Chicago Dogs, at 3:05 p.m.
