Getting to CHS Field

Saints In A Fighting Mood During July 6-11 Homestand

ST. PAUL, MN July 5, 2018

Many have tried to imitate the fun and entertainment at a St. Paul Saints game, but the Name of the Game is originality.  The Saints will take the week to Inflate the fun whether it be for the Boys, or girls.  You can always join us for Lunch, but just know we’re coming out Fighting during the July 6-11 homestand.

Friday, July 6 7:05 p.m. vs. Lincoln Saltdogs, Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks featuring the music of ABBA

Coming to a Saints game is not your Waterloo.  Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie some fun, fun fun. Feel free to send out an S.O.S because the Winner Takes It All.  It’s your last chance to see Independence Day Fireworks during our Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks featuring the music of ABBA.  The Swedish pop group topped the charts from 1974 to 1982 and sold more than 500 million records.  While they may not be One of Us you will go Head Over Heels for their music.  Also, cast members from Mama Mia at the Ordway will be in attendance giving fans a sneak preview of the amazing show.  Prior to the fireworks show, get out of your seats and be prepared to dance as a man who is one of us, Grayson DeWolfe, performs his hit single Karma live at the ballpark.

Saturday, July 7 7:05 p.m. vs. Lincoln Saltdogs, Saturdays are For the Boys

Last month we did our annual Women in Baseball and we didn’t want the guys to feel left out.  Bring your bros, quote your favorite movie line and fistpump when the Saints make a huge play because this one is For the Boys.  Put on your favorite Hawaiian shirt, drop the shades because it’s Treasure Island Saturday.

Sunday, July 8 5:05 p.m. vs. Lincoln Saltdogs, Replica Jersey Giveaway (1,000 Youth & 1,000 Adult)

When you look out onto the field perhaps you’ve dreamt of one day playing on the same field as the St. Paul Saints.  Maybe you’ve envisioned what it would look like as you donned a Saints jersey, with the Saints script across the chest.  Wonder no more during our Replica Jersey Giveaway to the first 1,000 youth and 1,000 adults.  Throw on the jersey and imitate your favorite Saints player whether it’s Brady Shoemaker’s swing, Eddie Medina’s splitter, or the cannon of an arm of Justin O’Conner.  Following the game kids run the bases and then can get their jerseys autographed by the entire team on Cub Family Sunday.

Monday, July 9 7:05 p.m. vs. Cleburne Railroaders, Fighting Saints Night

We still get confused for the Minor League Hockey team from the 1970s, so we thought for one night we would embrace it, with Fighting Saints Night.  The Fighting Saints were part of the 12 original teams of the WHA from 1972-76.  After not finishing the 1976 season, the second installment of the Saints came from Cleveland, Ohio for the 1976-77 season.  Among the most notable players were Wayne Connelly, the teams leading scorer, Mike Antonovich, the team’s career games leader, Hockey Hall of Famer Dave Keon, Gord Gallant, and Mike Holmgren.  One other player who made his professional debut with the Saints, playing in 30 games in the 1975-76 season, is current Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau.  He will be in attendance, along with other former Fighting Saints players, and partake in a pre-game ceremony.  The Saints will wear special Fighting Saints uniforms that will be auctioned off during the game.  We honor our fine state with Metropolitan State Minnesota Monday.

Tuesday, July 10 7:05 p.m. vs. Cleburne Railroaders, Inflatable Bat Giveaway (First 1,500 Fans)

The search engine Google was founded.  France wins the World Cup.  And Too Close’s “Next” was the Billboard Top 100 Song of the Year.  The Saints were also up to their usual hijinks giving away blue inflatable bats as fans walked through the gates during one game that summer.  If it was humorous in 1998, it must be just as funny 20 years later as we once again do an Inflatable Bat giveaway to the first 1,500 fans through the ballpark.  If your bat stays inflated for more than four hours please see a pulmonologist.  We celebrate everything about 1998 during our Valleyfair Take Me Back Tuesday.

Wednesday, July 11 1:05 p.m. vs. Cleburne Railroaders, It’s Just Lunch

It’s the summertime, what did you plan on doing at work anyway?  Leave your office and head on over to the ballpark for a long lunch because It’s Just Lunch for this matinee game.  This is the second of three afternoon games, so come enjoy some sun, fun, and baseball before the Saints head back out on the road.  If all of that isn’t enough then come for the craziest tailgate party around on Walser Wednesday.

Mamma Mia the Saints season is about the hit the halfway point, but stay Inflated with your enthusiasm because we’re Fighting for a playoff berth.  The Boys of Summer will try to Repilcate their success from 2015 and 2016.  We’ll give you plenty to talk about over Lunch because it’s the best homestand of the year from July 6-11.
