Getting to CHS Field

Saints Getting A New Home...On Radio, All 100 Games, Playoffs, Broadcast On iHeart's Alt 93.3 FM

ST. PAUL, MN April 18, 2018

The St. Paul Saints are about to extend their footprint in the Twin Cities Metro area and around the world.  As the Saints head into their fourth season at CHS Field they will have a brand-new home on the radio dial.  The 2018 season can be heard on Alt 93.3 FM and the iHeart Radio app.

The Saints new radio home will carry all 100 regular season games, plus the playoffs.  Fans who can’t get Alt 93.3 FM on the radio dial they will be able to catch every game on the iHeart app anywhere in the world.  As part of the partnership, the Saints will continue to produce all of their broadcasts including a 15-minute pregame and postgame show.

“This partnership between the Saints and Alt 93.3 will provide us with the strongest broadcast presence in the Twin Cities we’ve enjoyed in years,” said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Derek Sharrer.  “Our fans listening locally will be thrilled, and now through the iHeartRadio app, fans from around the country, or the world for that matter, will also be able to tune into what we hope is a Championship season.”

Sean Aronson will return for his 12th season as play-by-play broadcaster of the Saints, calling all 100 games.  He was named Ballpark Digest Minor League Broadcaster of the Year in 2016 and is the longest tenured broadcaster in franchise history.  He called his 1,000th game for the Saints on September 5, 2016.  Aronson will be joined by J.W. Cox, entering his fifth season with the Saints, and newcomer Evan Giddings.  Cox is the voice of St. Cloud State football and men’s and women’s basketball while Giddings was the play-by-play broadcaster for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, the San Francisco Giants Low-A affiliate, in 2017.  Cox and Giddings will be responsible for producing the broadcast, while hosting the pre- and post-game.  They will split the 50 home games and broadcast the middle three innings alongside Aronson.

Alt 93.3 FM is also the home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers women’s basketball.  Twin Cities Alternative 93.3 is an adult alternative station that plays such bands as Muse, Judah, Imagine Dragons, Weezer, and Nirvana.  The main coverage area goes from 494 to the 694 loop (Brooklyn Park to the North, Plymouth/Minnetonka to the East, Saint Paul to the West, and Bloomington to the South).

“All of us at iHeartMedia have long had tremendous respect for the Saints and the excellent brand of true family and sports entertainment they bring to St. Paul and all the communities of the Twin Cities area,” said Jeff Tyler, Region President, iHeartMedia Twin Cities.  “We are excited to partner with the Saints to bring their brand to current and new fans on 93.3fm and iHeartRadio.”

The Saints open the 2018 season on Friday, May 18 at 7:05 p.m. on the road against the Gary SouthShore Railcats.  The home opener is Monday, May 21 at 3:05 p.m. against the newest team in the league, the Chicago Dogs.
