Saints, Minnesota Subcontractors Association To Honor Military

ST. PAUL, MN May 23, 2013

ST. PAUL, MN (May 23, 2013) – The St. Paul Saints continue a long standing tradition of honoring the men and women who protect the freedom of the greatest country in the world, the U.S.A.  In conjunction with the Minnesota Subcontractors Association (MSA) the Saints will honor military members during the Saturday, May 25 game.

In an extremely generous gesture the MSA purchased 2,000 tickets, for the May 25 game against the El Paso Diablos, and donated them to local military members.  They will enjoy a picnic in front of Midway Stadium and partake in various on field promotions during the evening.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to partner with the Saints to put on an event of this caliber,” said Allie Lloyd, Treasurer of Lloyds Construction Services.  “The Minnesota construction industry as a whole has come together to show their support for the troops and the response throughout the industry has been overwhelming.”

The Saints will wear special military themed uniforms, which will then be signed by each player and given to some of the military members in attendance.  A few lucky fans will have an opportunity to win the jerseys through a raffle conducted by MSA.

“We wanted to do something special for the military members during this Memorial Weekend,” said Saints Assistant General Manager Chris Schwab.  “The MSA stepped up in a huge way to make this evening a special one, not just for the men and women who help keep us safe, but for their families who have to make plenty of sacrifices of their own.”

The Yellow Ribbon Program, which last season honored St. Paul, West St. Paul and Blaine as Yellow Ribbon Cities prior to Opening Night in 2012, will be in attendance to help honor all the military members.

Those military families interested in attending the game can contact the Saints on how and where to pick up their tickets.

The Saints have enjoyed a strong partnership with various branches of the Armed Forces for years. Saints players have taken part in going to various military bases around the state.  They have flown on Blackhawk Helicopters, visited kids of military families, conducted camps and signed autographs.

Tickets for all Saints regular season home games are available in person at the Saints Box Office, by phone at 651-644-6659 or online at saintsbaseball.com.  Tickets for Saints regular season home games are $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved.  Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket.  Tickets to the July 6 and September 1 Fireworks Super Show are an additional $3.  Children under the age of 14 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price.  Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.
